9th Grade Students Turn "Goo-goo, Ga-ga"

On November 29, 2008, Grade 9 students went for an outreach to Pakreed Babies Home. There were a total of 90 individuals who joined, comprising of 71 students, 4 homeroom teachers, 6 Thai teachers, 3 front office staff, 2 Guidance staff, 2 visitors, and 2 administrators.
We left the school around 8:30 and were able to reach there past 10. As the first group to arrive, we saw the little kids running toward us and excited to meet us. Excited as we are the kids wanted us to carry them right away. There was this one little boy who approached me and hugged me. I hugged him back and carried him in my arms. The first thing I notice is that they need love, care and attention. I'm almost moved to tears. In a way I pity them having been abandoned by their parents. But it's also a blessing that there are people that visit and take care for them more than their parents.
We toured around the place, played with the kids, bought ice cream for them, talked "Goo-goo, Ga-ga".  You can see in their eyes the happiness being surrounded with people who love them for who they are. Overall, this experience opened my eyes to the realities of life. Sad to say that these orphans are the one suffering.
80% of the kids in the center are unwanted by their parents and are just left around public places and even hospitals. So as a Grade 9 student and as a future parent in the years to come, we have to think twice of the consequences of our actions!
