Q:  How are the students’ grades and GPA computed?
A:  The grade points acquired for each subject are multiplied with the number of credits allocated       for those subjects.  To calculate the GPA, the product is then divided by the total number of       credits.
      The Grading key of the school which is given below indicates the letter grades and the grade       points for the same.

Q:  What is the procedure for enrollment in high-school (Grades 9-12)?
A:  To enroll in high-school, students from other international schools should get their previous       schools’ transcripts approved by the Registrar in order to determine the number of credits       that can be transferred.  After the initial assessment of the transcripts, the Registrar will then       contact the parents and students for appointments to take entrance exams.

Q:  What are the qualifications and procedure for enrollment in daycare to 8th Grade?
A:  - The minimum age requirement for enrollment in daycare is 1 years.
      - Procedure:
         a.  Buy and complete the application form.
         b.  Provide all documents required by the school.
         c.  Receive an appointment card from the Registrar.(for grade 1 and above)
         d.  Take the entrance examination during the appointed time.(for grade 1 and above)
         e.  Examination results will be communicated by the school.(for grade 1 and above)

Q:  What curriculum is used at RAIS?
A:  All students at RAIS have access to and participate in, a more systematic, relevant and       standards-based curriculum. The curriculum is reflected in the newly-adopted standards-      based text books of which about 90% of them are from the U.S.  RAIS has adopted the North       American Division of the Seventh-day Adventists curriculum with their approval. Though such       standards are followed, due consideration is given to Thai Culture and History.

Q:  When does the school open for enrollment?  And how many terms are there in a school year?
A:  -The school is open for enrollment from January until June.
     -There are two semesters in a school year.  First semester begins in August, and the second       semester begins in January.

Q:  How many students are their in RAIS?
A:  There are approximately 700 students.

Q:  How many students are there in one classroom?

Q:  What is the cost for registration?
A:  The registration fee is 20,000 Baht for the first year and 5,000 Baht for the following years.

Q:  How much is the school fees per year?
A:  It is approximately 150,000 Baht.

Q:  How many grade levels are their in RAIS?
A:  We have Daycare (1 year old) up to Grade 12 or Matthayom 6.

Q:  Is RAIS fully accredited?
A:  Apart from a legal granting to operate the school by the Ministry of Education and a member of International Schools Association of Thailand(ISAT) RAIS has been granted full accreditation from WASC for three years.

Q:  What is WASC?
A:  WASC stands for Western Association of Schools and Colleges.  The Western Association of      Schools and Colleges (WASC) is one of six regional accrediting associations in the United       States.  The Accrediting Commission provides assistance to schools located in California,       Hawaii, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, American Samoa, the       Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and East Asia.

Q:  Can students graduating from Grade 12 (Mattayom 6) at RAIS take the Thai national entrance exam?
A:  Yes, they can request for a special transcript from the Registrar before applying for the Thai       national entrance exam.

A:  As specified by the Ministry of Education, all students are required to take Thai four periods a       week
