Curriculum
In making the curriculum and standards for RAIS, the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) North American Division curriculum and the California Content Standards are used as a guide. At present, this curriculum is under review. The syllabi, lessons, and examinations are carefully planned and constructed so that the teachers and the learners are properly guided in their daily interactions. Instructions and activities provide flexibility, and there is always room for initiative and opportunities for incidental learning.

Assessment
Assessment of student learning is incorporated as an integral part of the teaching-learning processes. It reflects a diversity of approaches and criteria motivating and supporting constructive learning and the achievement of goals rather than interpersonal competitiveness and the ranking of individuals. Cooperation and team work, participation in classroom activities, taking the initiative to learn and helping others learn, etc. and other citizenship aspects are also integrated into the assessment program.
Pending Grades
A student who has pending grade in a particular subject due to incomplete quizzes, assignments, tests, exams, or projects must complete the requirements within the prescribed period set by the teacher in consultation with the academic principal. Otherwise, the student will get “F” grade in that subject.
Promotion Policy
Students who successfully complete all the requirements are promoted to the next grade level.
- Should a student receive a final grade with one “F” for any subject in the year, but maintain a CGPA of at least 1.30, he/she may be promoted to the next grade level under the condition that he/she takes summer school.
- Should a student receive a final grade with two “F’s” in any two subjects in the year, but maintain a CGPA of at least 1.50, he/she may still be promoted to the next grade level under the condition that he/she takes summer school.
- Should a student receive the final grades with three or more “F’s” in any three or more subjects in the year, he/she may NOT be promoted to the next grade level but will be detained in the same grade level.
- A student who is detained a second time in the same grade level is asked to withdraw from school or may make special arrangements with the school board.
